HO CHI MINH CITY Airbus delivered its 9000th aircraft off the production line to Vietjet over the weekend.
Coded VN-A65, the aircraft is VietJet’s first A321 and the fifth of a long-term order for 100 aircraft.
It was purchased in a deal financed by BNP Paribas bank (France) and Jackson Square (Japan), has been emblazoned with the words: “Airbus’ 9000th aircraft”.
The A321 can seat up to 220 passengers in a high-density arrangement.
Inside no.4The deliver gives Vietjet 23 aircraft and there are now plans to add services to South Korea and Japan.
VietJet managing director, Luu Duc Khanh, said; “The new fleet will further facilitate our business plan as well as offer customers more flying experiences.”
Currently, the airline has 22 Airbus A320 aircraft.
It operates 28 local and international routes across Vietnam and the region with flights to Singapore, Thailand, South Korea, Taiwan, and Cambodia.
