2011 will be the first time there is the Kep Beach Festival, this is not a large scale event so you're sure to have a lazy and enjoyable day at the beach.
3.30pm - 5.00pm: DJ Hoxup from Belgium will play Khmer Rock 'n'Roll music from the 1960s and 1970s.
5pm - 6pm: Around 30 Orphans from the Kampot based Khmer Cultural Development Institute will perform a mixture of Apsara, modern dancing and theatre.
6.15pm - 7.30pm: The second live-act will be from Cambodia's most famous export product, the legendary Chapei player Ta Kong Nay. This will be his second time in Kep after his inspiring and outstanding performance on December 30, 2010. His latest collaboration was a series of concerts with Peter Gabriel and his band.
7.30pm - 8.30pm: DJ Sadge was active as a DJ in the Netherlands since the 1970s and was a co-host of the famous Berlin located club "Deli" (now called Maria am Ufer) from 1998 until its closure in 2003. Sadge will play African grooves in Kep.
8.30pm - 9.30pm: French DJ Stephane Arii, one of the organizers of the legendary dance events on top of Bokor Mountain will return to the turntables after a long absence. He will play a set of different styles of black music: from African Roots to disco, soul and funk.
9.30pm - 10.30pm: Professor Kinski & MC Curly will play a dynamic live-set of Khmer Hiphop, Bavarian Ragga-muffin and electronic Hard-dub. Jan Robert Mueller starred several years in the German daily soap called "Marienhof" and is now working as a music producer in Phnom Penh. Dang Kosal grew up in an orphanage and already in those days his biggest dream was to become a rapper. Besides music he is writing scripts for Khmer Mekong Films and he worked on the Cambodian series called "Airwaves".
