Special one for you this Saturday. We have put a dream-team band together for the Bouchon 6th anniversary party, with an awesome theme: Songs from the movies of Quentin Tarantino.
In a controversial break with protocol, I have moved on from playing 1950's rockabilly to early 1960's surf-rock. Still safely beyond the bounds of the most recent fifty years of musical history, this style is hip and cool and just perfect for the Tarantino movie theme.
Yes I am talking about Dick Dale, Surf Rider and all that twangy stuff that runs through the films Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs etc etc.
For this kind of night you need a tenor sax man with chops. Here comes Euan Gray to blast the Bouchon party.
A Tarantino-inspired musical evening could not take place without a superb soul singer to style 'Son of a Preacher Man' and 'Let's Stay Together' etc. Here comes the best soul singer in town, Mirasol Aguila.
None of this will work without a powerful and rock-solid rhythm section. Andrey and Antti - please make us sound good!
See you on Saturday, the party will be swinging all night, live music start time to be confirmed but I guess 8pm.
Cheers
