The Germany-based Condor Airlines will begin its first direct fight to Cambodia in November, H.E. Thong Khon, Minister of Tourism told local media yesterday.
Condor Airlines will use Boeing 767-300, which can carry more than 200 passengers to flight from Frankfurt, Germany to Siem Reap province, home to Angkor temples, once a week, he said.
Besides Condor, a Russian airline is also expected to flight to Cambodia in 2013, underlined H.E. Thong Khon.
Up to now, Cambodia got direct flights from China, Hong Kong, Korea, France, Thailand, Myanmar, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam and Laos.
In the first four months of the year, Cambodia received some 1.2 million foreign visitors, of them 252,700 were from the EU, an increase by 13.3 percent if compared to the same period last year.
