Cambodia will open their four-team Group B campaign against Bahrain on January 9 in the Bangabandhu Gold Cup International Football Tournament being simultaneously played in Dhaka and Sylhet.

The fourth edition of this invitational event featuring eight teams includes both the senior and U-23 sides from hosts Bangladesh.

In the draw announced last week, Cambodia were clustered with Bahrain, Maldives and Bangladesh U-23 while Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh represented the other group.

On January 11, Cambodia will take on the home side in their second fixture and will meet Maldives in the final group game two days later.

The top two teams from either group will make it to the crisscross semifinals with the title showdown in Dhaka slated for January 18.

The 22-player Cambodian side will leave Phnom Penh for Dhaka with seven officials on Wednesday.
