The Ministry of Tourism is organising the 2nd annual River Festival under the theme “Clean River, Best Community,” it announced on its website yesterday.
The three-day festival kicks off this Friday in Kampong Cham and Tbong Khmum provinces, and aims to promote natural tourism along the Mekong River and encourage local communities to participate in protecting the environment.
The ministry has earmarked $500,000 to support the event, according to ministry sources, which will include fairs for tourist-oriented local products.
