PHNOM PENH Cambodia Angkor Air will inaugurate an air service connecting Phnom Penh with Seoul (Incheon) in South Korea starting 17 April.
It will offer four weekly flights on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday using a 178-seat Airbus A321 on the routes.
From July, the airline will increase services to five weekly flights and daily by next year.
The direct flights will help to boost tourism from South Korea a major source market for Cambodia as well as boost air cargo trade.
The airline’s deputy CEO, Lim Kao, said there was a huge potential for stronger trade and tourism links between Cambodia and South Korea.
The airline appointed Global Aviation Alliance (GAA) as its new general sales agent (GSA) for both passenger and cargo service for the South Korean market.
Currently, Cambodia Angkor Air operates domestic services from its base in Phnom Penh to Siem Reap and Sihanoukville and international services to China’s Guangzhou and Shanghai in China, Luang Prabang and Vientiane in Laos, Bangkok, Thailand and Danang, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam.
Global Aviation Alliance was established in 2004 as a GSA for airlines. It is also a charter tour wholesaler in South Korea.
