More than 150 national and global architecture and design companies gathered on Koh Pich in Phnom Penh on Thursday to kick-off a three-day Architect and Decor Expo which will showcase their products and services, said its organiser, ICVeX Co.
It said it organised the event with the Cambodian Architects Association in response to the growing demand for expertly designed structures and interior decorating. The exposition runs until Saturday at the Koh Pich Exhibition venue.
Phuoeng Sophan, secretary of state for the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction and general secretary of Architects Cambodia, said the event will benefit the construction and design sectors in Cambodia.
“It is a forum which will bring new ideas, products and models of interior design to Cambodians as people’s lifestyles have rapidly changed in recent years,” he said.
He said the economic growth in the Kingdom and the rising middle class contributed to greater demand in the sector. The products at the expo include kitchen and bathroom equipment, tiles and furniture.
