Kerry Express, a member of Kerry Logistics, has entered into a partnership with convenience store company Jiffy to use its stores in Cambodia as parcel delivery service points.
The service will be piloted in three stores in Phnom Penh – at the PTT gas stations in Neakawan, Phnom Penh Thmey, and Veng Sreng – and will be expanded to other Jiffy outlets in the country before the end of the year, according to Kerry Express.
“Convenience is the most prominent feature of this new service. Best of all, the fee is based on the dimensions of the parcel, not on weight,” said Sear Rithy, president of the board of directors at Kerry Logistics, adding that the minimum fee will be $1.
Mr Rithy said that Kerry Express aims to increase convenience for its customers by creating more service channels. He said that their partnership with Jiffy is only the beginning.
“To support our vision for the future, Kerry Express intends to set up a new logistics hub in Phnom Penh with an increased parcel sorting capacity,” he said, adding that their network now consists of more than 50 service points and 30 distribution centres across the Kingdom.
Jiffy, a Thai chain of mini marts, has 24 stores in Cambodia, most of them located in PTT gas stations.
Suthon Choothian, managing director of PTT Cambodia, said that they are planning to have Kerry Express booths in all Jiffy stores.
“With this cooperation, Jiffy expects to see growth in customer traffic and growth in sales. We hope that this partnership will keep on growing,” Mr Choothian said.
Alex Ng, executive director of Kerry Express, said his company delivers more than one million parcels every day in the region. The company has more than 20,000 vehicles in Southeast Asia, he added.
