Siem Reap's iconic Hфtel de la Paix has teamed up with Ispahan Outreach, promoters D3 Concerts and the Embassy of Ireland to sponsor a fundraising gala performance by Irish music star, Mary Black, in aid of its neighbour the Green Gecko children's centre, once again demonstrating its commitment to supporting community projects within Cambodia. Taking place at the Embassy of Ireland's official residence in Singapore on 7 March 2011, the proceeds from the event will be donated to the children's centre by Mary herself in a ceremony at Hфtel de la Paix on 24 March 2011.

Singer Mary Black has been a dominant presence in Irish music for 25 years, playing a leading role in bringing it to a growing global audience and winning many awards, including the Irish Post's lifetime achievement award, and Best Female Vocalist in the IRMA awards. Mary's fundraising performance is in aid of the Green Gecko Project, a children's centre set up to house and educate former street children,

The fundraising evening will also include an auction of items ranging from art by the Green Gecko children themselves, as well as leading Khmer and Cambodia-based artists such as Sasha Constable, a descendant of landscape master John Constable and curator of Hфtel de la Paix's own Arts Lounge; Reggie Baxter; John McDermott; Ben Thynal; Chhea Bunna; and Chhouk Rithy. Also up for auction will be jewellery from Bulgari, Marilyn Tan and Mouward, and luxury hotel breaks at Hфtel de la Paix.

Shinta Mani Hotel and the Golden Banana Hotel in Siem Reap, Sukhothai Hotel & Resort in Bangkok; golf at the Angkor Golf Resort; concert tickets; and a Platinum Disc signed by Mary Black. The event is also being kindly supported by Molly Malone's Pub; Guinness; The Hidden Host; and Ritz Carlton.

Located in the heart of Siem Reap, close to the cultural and historic heart of Cambodia, Hфtel de la Paix is a luxury boutique hotel within easy reach of colourful markets and vibrant nightlife; and just a few kilometres from the breathtaking temple complexes of Angkor Wat, often referred to as the eighth wonder of the world and recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Khmer culture is celebrated in every aspect of style and service at Hфtel de la Paix, from the Meric Restaurant, with its seasonally inspired local cuisine to the Arts Lounge, which pays tribute to Cambodian artists; and Spa Indochine, which offers signature traditional treatments.
