The shooting of a film on Cambodia that aims to promote the country to tourists and investors abroad, particularly from China, began last week.

‘Love in Cambodia’ is being financed by the Prince Real Estate Group and will be shot in Phnom Penh, the Angkor archaeological complex in Siem Reap, Preah Sihanouk’s Koh Rong island, and Kampot’s Bokor Mountain, among other landmark locations in the Kingdom.

The movie will also be shot in China, particularly in Yunnan province’s Kunming.

It is a collaboration with the Cambodian Tourism Ministry and the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, and will cost about $2 million to make. Shooting is expected to conclude before the end of the year.

The feature aims to celebrate Cambodian society and will be presented as a gift to Cambodians to mark the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Cambodia and China, said Li Min, president of the Prince Real Estate Group.

“The purpose of filming ‘Love in Cambodia’ is to help spread Cambodia’s unique Angkor Wat culture and showcase the country’s economic achievements to China and the rest of the world, and help expand its influence,” he said.

“The movie will contribute to the rise of Cambodia,” he added.
