The World Tourism Day is celebrated every 27th of September all around the world. It is a unique opportunity to raise awareness on tourism’s actual and potential contribution to sustainable development.  This year, World Tourism Day is focused on the importance of digital technologies in tourism, providing opportunities for innovation and guiding the future axes of work.

Digital Technology potential is at the heart of Camboticket's mission. One of our main aims is to raise awareness among Cambodians about sustainable tourism and how online payment and booking platforms have made traveling more convenient than ever.

Pchum Ben Festival is a unique Cambodian Buddhist festival. This ancestor’s festival take place in October. During this 3-days time, Cambodians all over the country travel to their home province to join ceremonies which involve processions around temples. ‘’Ben’’ is the Khmer word for ‘’Offer’’. According to their beliefs, Khmer people will become ghosts whose actions on earth shape their appearance after death.  During Pchum Ben, everyone prays to help ancestors. The living relatives ease their sufferings by offering them food. People also make offerings of money, dresses and other items to the monks in the temples. Anyone who will not follow these practices will be cursed by angry ancestors.

These events represent the opportunity for Camboticket to touch their users and help them to travel easier during Pchum Ben in a responsible way.
