Aviation authorities in Cambodia are conducting a feasibility study which may pave the way for direct flights to and from the UK, according to news reports.
Long Chheng, deputy cabinet director of the country’s Secretariat of State of Civil Aviation (SSCA) told the Phnom Penh Post that increasing numbers of visitors from the UK has led to the study. Tourist arrivals from the UK climbed 3.3 percent year-on-year in January 2011.
An official at British Embassy in Cambodia confirmed the plan, saying that the UK’s Department for Transport and the SSCA were “discussing an Air Services Agreement between the two countries”.
