The government is considering building more stations in Phnom Penh’s water taxi system to enhance connectivity with Kandal province in the south.
The creation of new stations in the capital’s water taxi system will be discussed by the Ministry of Public Works and Transport in the beginning of next year, said ministry spokesman Va Simsorya.
The additional stations would help meet demand for transportation services between Kandal province and Phnom Penh, he added.
“We have a plan to build these stations, but because we are now at the end of the year, we will wait until next year so that we know our budget for the project,” Mr Simsorya said.
The ministry plans to expand the network of stations to Kandal’s Sa’ang and Kean Svay districts.
