Cambodia held its 9th River Festival in south Takeo province from March 21 to 23 to promote tourism in the riparian provinces.
Under the theme “The Value of River: Linking Culture and Natural Tourism,” the three-day event attracted a large number of local and foreign visitors.
Takeo Governor Vei Samnang stated that this is the first time Takeo has hosted the River Festival. He expressed his belief that the event will significantly boost the province’s economy, and serve as a platform to promote local products to both Cambodian citizens and international visitors, thereby enhancing and showcasing the tourism potential of the riverside province.
Festival-goers enjoyed live performances of artistic spectacles and concerts, as well as tourism and trade exhibitions, sports, martial arts, floating and sky lantern displays, and fireworks, among other activities.
The annual festival is designed to promote the value of local products, tourism-related services, and potential tourism destinations in Cambodia’s riverine provinces.VNA
