Local tour operator, Vietravel and Cambodia Angkor Air resumed tours, Monday, to neigbouring Cambodia after the Vietnamese tour company and airline inked a new partnership deal.
Tours resumed after a year’s absence. The Ho Chi Minh City-based firm is selling four-day air tours to Siem Reap priced at US$350 down from last year’s US$500 price tag.According to Vietravel communication manager, Nguyen Minh Man, the original package price was too high and discouraged Vietnamese travellers causing the company to discontinue to the tours.
Mr Man added he believed the new price fitted the market especially as the flight to Siem Reap was just one hour and there was also strong competition from overland tour companies using bus services to Phnom Penh to cut package costs.Other popular destinations for Vietnamese are Thailand, China, Singapore and Malaysia.
