Cambodia To Host ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Siem Reap Early Next Year

The ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Retreat will take place in Siem Reap province, a main tourism destination in Cambodia, on Jan. 10-11, 2012, H.E. Kao Kimhourn, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation told reporters.

It is the first meeting as Cambodia takes over as the ASEAN Chair for 2012, he said.

The two-day meeting will touch on economy, regional security and integration and the establishment of the ASEAN Community, he said.

Cambodia was ready to fulfill its role as the ASEAN chair, underlined H.E. Kao Kimhourn.

The Kingdom used to chair ASEAN in 2002.
