In the first nine months of this year, Cambodia received in total some 2.57 million foreign tourists, up 24 percent if compared to the same period last year, according to the statistics of the Ministry of Tourism.
The Vietnamese ranked at the top list of foreign arrivals in Cambodia from January to September 2012 with 579,890 tourists, up 25 percent, showed the statistics.
The South Korean visitors came in second with 306,550, up 24 percent, while the Chinese in third with 234,440, up 32 percent, indicated the statistics, adding that the Lao and Thai tourists stood at No. 4 and 5, with some 177,140 and 137,430, up 90 percent and 70 percent respectively.
With this growth, Cambodia is expected to receive some 3.3 million foreign tourists in 2012, said the Ministry of Tourism.
In 2011, the country attracted 2.88 million foreign tourists and generated some US$1.91 billion.
