Nine northern and western provinces of Cambodia would be affected by thunderstorms and other natural phenomena from Mar. 18 to 20, according to the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology’s news release issued yesterday.
The nine provinces include Oddar Meanchey, Preah Vihear, Banteay Meanchey, Battambang, Siem Reap, Kampong Thom, Stung Treng, Kratie and Kampong Cham.
The news release was issued after some provinces have been hit by thunderstorms, heavy rains, lightning, etc., which have destroyed hundred of houses, injured and killed some people.
The news release also appealed to the affected provinces, local authorities and other provincial institutions to be on high alert to avoid any eventual accident.
