Life is sometimes hectic, with many things packed into a day. In life, a lot of big things have to fit together so it all makes sense. Family, love, work and study are indispensable for everyone.

No matter how busy we are, we cannot afford to miss this vital component for adding meaning to our lives.

Nowadays, people enjoy spending their leisure time hanging out and looking for great restaurants where they can eat together.

As you travel down Street 528, your attention will be drawn by the Phum Bai Tong restaurant in a setting reminiscent of an English village green.

It is pleasantly designed and decorated, and someone seeing it for the first time would probably think it was a romantic spot and a good place to have dinner with family members.

To mark the occasion, it has a special promotion: 20 per cent off for all customers.

The restaurant serves more than 100 kinds of food – mostly Khmer dishes, but some Western favourites as well.

Phum Bai Tong’s signature dishes are Ko Noh Neurm ($8) and Nhoam Bro Pon Chhong ($4.5). In addition, there’s a wide selection of beers, wines and soft drinks.

Hep Sinath, a supervisor at Phum Bai Tong, says: “The most important thing is that our restaurant provides job opportunities for young people who need to work part- time to finance their studies.”

Sinath says he has noticed that most of his workers are young people and students eager to work for their studies and their future. He appreciates that young Cambodians have to struggle to work for their future.

Sinath says customers can celebrate their birthdays at Phum Bai Tong and hold parties there.

There’s also a children’s playground on the first floor, making it a fine venue for family gatherings.

To top it off, there’s live classical music by a Cambodian singer/guitarist on Saturday and Sunday and by artists from the Philippines from Tuesday to Friday.

Phum Bai Tong is the perfect place to unwind after work or study, and there’s plenty of parking.

An open-air area, good service and reasonable prices, along with live music, make it a great spot for both romantic dinners and get-togethers with friends.
