Cambodia To Celebrate the 5th Anniversary of Preah Vihear Temple’s Registration as World Heritage Site

Cambodia will mark the 5th anniversary of Preah Vihear Temple’s listing as a World Heritage Site at Phnom Penh’s Olympic Stadium in the evening of July 7.

A preparatory meeting on the upcoming celebration was held here on Monday at Phnom Penh Municipal Hall in the presence of Phnom Penh Governor H.E. Pa Socheat Vong, President of Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia H.E. Hun Many and officials from relevant institutions.

Over 10,000 people are expected to attend the forthcoming event, which will be presided over by Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Sok An, Minister in charge of the Office of the Council of Ministers.

Concert and fireworks will be displayed and the whole program will be televised live by local TVs.

Preah Vihear Temple was inscribed as a World Heritage Site on July 7, 2008 during the 32nd Session of the World Heritage Committee held in Quebec city, Canada.
