British Airways will start operating daily Airbus A380 flights to Singapore next month. The 469-seat A380 is the largest aircraft in BA's fleet

Commencing on 20 November 2015, the UK’s national carrier will use the A380 to operate one of its two daily direct services between London Heathrow and Singapore Changi Airport.

Flights will depart Heathrow at 1905 and arrive in Singapore at 1555 the following day. The return service then leaves Changi at 2320 and arrives back in London at 0515 the next morning.

The A380 service will be temporarily reduced to three times a week between 25 December 2015 and 24 February 2016, when the aircraft undergoes maintenance. But the daily service will resume on 25 February 2016.

BA’s other daily Singapore flight is operated using a Boeing 777 aircraft.

“The A380 is the largest aircraft in our fleet that is designed with the modern standard of comfort. Since its inaugural flight on the route last October, it has proven to be really popular with our customers here and we are very pleased to be extending the service to daily,” said Robert Williams, BA’s head of Asia Pacific sales.

“The start of the daily service also means that all British Airways aircraft departing Singapore will now feature our latest cabin products, ensuring customers travelling from Singapore to both London and Sydney do so in absolute style and comfort.”

BA’s A380 can seat 469 passengers in four cabins: 14 in first class, 97 in business class, 55 in premium economy and 303 in economy. All seats come fitted with power sockets and USB ports, plus in-flight entertainment.
