American-owned Moo Moo Farms plans to import 1,000 cows in February next year to produce high-quality fresh milk.
Kenny Matthews, founder of Moo Moo Farms, said he started the business in 2016, nearly three years ago, with about 10 cows. He now has 300 cows that have been imported from New Zealand.
“We are now planning to expand the farm by next year, and will import 1,000 more cows to Cambodia,” Mr Matthews said.
The dairy farm was originally located in Takhmao, but was moved to Kandal’s province Arey Ksat commune, approximately four kilometres outside Phnom Penh, due to space constraints.
“After the expansion, our farm could become the largest fresh milk producing farm in Southeast Asia and could provide many jobs for Cambodians while promoting local products,” Mr Matthews added.
An employee at Moo Moo Farms told Khmer Times that orders are rising because more and more Cambodians demand high-quality milk.
