Provincial authorities in Kratie, Stung Treng and Mondulkiri can now issue the ‘D form’ of the certificate of origin to agricultural producers and exporters.

According to a recent government announcement, starting today traders and producers of agricultural products in the three northeastern provinces can apply for the form directly at their respective provincial commerce department, saving them a trip to the capital.

Companies that want to apply must submit an application through the website of the provincial commerce department, the announcement said.

Lim Sreng, director of Mondulkiri’s commerce department, confirmed that they are ready to issue the form.

“This initiative will help local exporters and producers as they will no longer have to come to Phnom Penh to apply for the D form of the certificate of origin,” he said.

Mr Sreng said he is expecting to receive a large number of applications for the form as many companies in the province export rubber, pepper, and cassava to Vietnam.

He stressed that they can only issue the document to registered companies.
