Minister asks officials to work harder on AIMS project

All the departments involved in the project must work harder to make the project a success and must do so with transparency and accountability to gain the trust of development partners and increase farmers’ incomes, Minister Pan Sorasak said during a meeting convened to review the project.

“Our goal is to make sure that the farmers enjoy a sustainable income once the project is over,” he said.

AIMS is a joint project between the government and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) with a budget of $45 million. The project started in 2017 and will run until 2023.

Executed by the Ministry of Commerce, the project aims to help farmers expand their markets and increase the value of local products, particularly vegetables, rice, cassava, silk, and chicken. It covers 18 provinces and works with around 60,000 families across the country
