The China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) is receiving financial counsel from US firm Hunton Andrews Kurth in the development of the Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville expressway.
The partnership was announced on Monday by the US law firm.
CRBC was chosen to undertake the ambitious expressway project that will connect the Kingdom’s capital with the nation’s only deep-sea port, located in Sihanoukville. Construction of the 190-kilometre, four-lane thoroughfare began in March.
Hunton Andrews Kurth – a global law firm representing project lenders, investors, developers, sponsors and governments on public-private partnership transactions – will be providing financial advice to the Chinese developer.
Vasim Sorya, spokesman for the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, told Khmer Times last week that construction of the expressway is progressing as planned.
He said the expressway will be completed before the end of 2022 in time for an Asean summit that will be held in Preah Sihanouk province.
