IG Tech Group, a Cambodian enterprise, yesterday signed a memorandum of understanding with four Malaysian tech companies aiming to expand their operations in the Kingdom.
Malaysia-based AETINS, NetAssist, TESS International, and CALMS Technologies signed a business collaboration agreement with IG Tech Group in a ceremony attended by Malaysian Ambassador Eldeen Husaini Mohd Hashim.
As a result of the agreement, the Malaysian companies will expand their operations in the Kingdom, bringing new solutions to the local market by focusing of four key areas – cybersecurity, systems to combat money laundering, school support systems and insurance solutions.
The agreement was facilitated by Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), a government agency.
Kim Puthkiry, president of IG Tech Group, said the agreement brings the company a step closer to realising the launch of its ‘Centre of Excellence’, a facility that will enable the firm to supply countries along the Mekong River.
“Once the centre is established, Malaysian companies will feed us soft code while we carry additional research and development that will enable us to bring digital solutions to the Mekong countries,” he said.
According to Mr Puthkiry, the centre will launch in September.
“There is a big market for digital solutions in Cambodia. This is why we decided to create the centre,” he said, adding that IG Tech Group is aiming to begin operations in Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam soon.
