The Seychelles Tourism Board along with Mason's Travel representative, Ms. Hilda Camille [email protected] and Mrs. Elizabeth Fideria of Big Blue Divers dive center [email protected] were in attendance at the Asia Dive Expo ADEX 2012, which took place from April 13-15 at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore.
This is the second year that Seychelles has been present at this dive show with the idea of promoting diving and the destination as a whole.
Staged annually, the Asia Dive Expo is the region's longest-running dive show. Now owned by Asian Diver magazine, ADEX is a show that is organized “by divers, for divers,” and bringing together diving enthusiasts, marine conservationists, and all those with a passion for the underwater world.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Seychelles Tourism Board, Mrs. Elsia Grandcourt, addressed the show participants about the Seychelles unforgettable diving experiences among both its unique granite and coral reef during the opening ceremony. During the Asia Dive Expo, the Seychelles delegation had the chance to meet with several celebrities in the diving community such as Aaron Wong, a famous underwater photographer, and Imran Ahmad, a professional Nikon photographer, who has expressed their desire to visit during the time 2012 Edition of SUBIOS, the Seychelles Festival of the Sea, to help make an even greater success of this event, and to make more well known to the diving world.
The Seychelles Tourism Board Manager of the “Celebrate Seychelles – Events Department”, Mrs. Marymonde Matatiken said: “Even though its only the second time the Seychelles is present at ADEX, we have managed to put the Seychelles on the map amongst other well-known diving destination such as Indonesia, Australia, and we are today known amongst famous diving celebrities.”
Ms. Stephanie Lablache, Senior Marketing Executive of the Seychelles Tourism Board, added that the show has provided Seychelles with great publicity through different publications such as Asian Diver and the Big Blue book during the show and all in all they managed to attract interest from many different press from all over Asia and around the globe and from many divers wishing to make the Seychelles their next dive holiday destination.
