Qantas Airways has requested to alter its codesharing agreements with British Airways on flights to Italy, instead opting to partner with Emirates on the route.
The Australian International Air Services Commission (IASC) has been asked to switch Qantas’ 400 allocated weekly codeshare seats from British Airways flights between London and Rome to Emirates’ services between Dubai and Milan.
If approved, the new codeshare will come into effect from 31 March 2013.
Qantas Airways strategic alliance with the Middle Eastern carrier is still awaiting final approval and third parties have until 4 January 2013 to comment on the submission.
