Airport Link extends hours

BANGKOK, 21 December 2013: Airport Rail Link and MRT will extend service hours from midnight to 0200 on New Year’s Eve.

Airport Rail Link will extend service hours of the City Line – Phayathai-Suvarnabhumi while the Express Line will operate normal hours closing at midnight.

From 24 December to 2 January Airport Link will give to passengers 21,000 pens and 7,000 bottles of white tea at Makkasan and Phayathai stations.

The SRT Electrified Train, the operator of the Airport Rail Link, will promote its check-in facility at Makkasan Station from 0700 to 2100 to avoid congestion at the airport. The SRET provides free parking at Makkasan station for up to 300 cars.

Transport Minister Chadchart Sittipunt says the State Railway of Thailand will study whether it should cancel the contract on the electrified trains supplied by Siemens to solve a monopoly that will make it more difficult to buy rolling stock from other companies in the future.
