Airlines drop fares at domestic fair

BANGKOK Airlines are discounting fares by around 20% during the 32th Thai Tiew Thai fair at Queen Sirikit Convention Centre.
The domestic travel fair opened Thursday and continues until late Sunday evening, 7 September. Fare discounts are the main draw for many of show goers estimated to top 300,000 people by the close this Sunday.
Nok Air sells a one-way fare, inclusive of airport taxes and surcharges, at THB880 to Phitsanulok, Lampang, Udon Thani, Ubon Ratchathani, Khon Kaen, and Krabi from its base at Don Mueang Airport, Bangkok.
A THB980 fare is on sale to Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Hat Yai, Phuket, Surat Thani and Trang. The same fare applies on the Chiang Mai-Udon Thani route.
Nok Air also offers a THB1,080 fare to Nan, Chumporn, Roi Et and Loei. The travel period is 7 to 30 September this year.
Thai AirAsia sells a one-way fare, inclusive of taxes, at THB590 to Chiang Mai, Phitsanulok, Khon Kaen, Sakon Nakhon, Udon Thani, Ubon Ratchathani, Krabi, and Hat Yai.
A THB690 fare is on offer to Chiang Rai, Nakhon Phanom, Phuket, Trang, Nakhon Si Thammarat, and Surat Thani.
Using the airline’s Fly Thru service the fare is THB840 to Pai (land transfer from Chiang Mai airport) and Sukhothai (from Phitsanulok airport). A THB890 fare applies to Roi Et, Mahasarakham and, Kalasin (from Khon Kaen airport), and Mukdahan (from Nakhon Phanom airport).
A THB1,065 fare is also on offer to islands — Tao, Samui, Phangan, Lipe, Phi Phi, Lanta Ngai, and Yao Noi combining air fare and land transfer from the nearest airports (Surat Thani and Krabi).
Fares to international destinations start at THB990 to Yangon, THB2,250 to Macau and THB2,290 to Kunming.
Travel period is 5 September to 30 November this year.
Thai AirAsia X offers a roundtrip fare, inclusive of airport taxes and baggage allowance of 20 kg as well as an inflight snack, from Bangkok (Don Mueang) to Seoul at THB9,900 and Tokyo and Osaka at THB12,900. Travel valid to 30 November this year.
Bangkok Airways sells a one-way fare, exclusive of airport taxes, from Bangkok at THB1,190 to Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Sukhothai, Trat, and Krabi.
The fare comes with a 20 kg baggage allowance and inflight snack, but a change of flight date after the initial booking will cost another Bt800.
Other fares: THB1,390 to Phuket and Lampang and THB2,590 to Samui. A THB3,890 fare is on sale departing Chiang Mai to Samui.
On international routes, a roundtrip fare, exclusive of airport taxes and fees, sells at THB1,790 to Yangon, Nay Pyi Taw and Mandalay, in Myanmar.
Other fares: THB2,190 to Vientiane, Phnom Penh and Siem Reap; THB3,190 to Luang Prabang, Dhaka and Mumbai; and THB10,190 to Maldives.
All fares are valid for travel from 22 September to 31 December, this year, except to the Maldives which has a travel window of 12 October through to 31 March next year.
All fares are exclusively on offer to fair goers until Sunday evening.
