For art-lovers making the jump across the pond this week, navigating the 140-plus auctions and galleries open to the public can feel overwhelming. Here are the not-to-miss highlights.

In early July, art lovers, collectors, and museums from around the world will gather in London for two art events: London Art Week (July 3-10) and Brown’s London Art Weekend (July 3-5). The former is sponsored by the Crown Estate and has been described as the world’s premiere fine arts fair; with 40 prestigious galleries and three auction houses in Mayfair and St. James's, the masterpieces on display could soon end up in a museum near you. The latter was started by the historic Brown’s Hotel and includes art walks, art talks, and independent galleries exhibiting everything from Old Master paintings to contemporary works. “The purpose of Brown's London Art Weekend is to celebrate the huge diversity of the art available in Mayfair and also to demonstrate that these galleries are in fact very accessible and welcoming,” says Olga Polizzi, director of design for Brown’s Hotel.

Here are our picks for the best events, galleries, and artworks to incorporate into your itinerary.
