Bangkok - Turkish Embassy in Bangkok hosts a reception to mark the 94th Anniversary of the Proclamation of the Republic of Turkey at the Ramada Plaza Menam Riverside.
Following the opening ceremony with Thai and Turkish national anthems, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey, H.E. Evren Dagdelen Akgun read President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's message to the attendees and extended a warm welcome to everyone attending the event.
On October 29, 1923, the status of the nation as a republic was declared and its official name was proclaimed to be Turkiye Cumhuriyeti ("the Republic of Turkey"). Mustafa Kemal Ataturk (1881 – 10 November 1938), an Ottoman and Turkish army officer, revolutionary statesman, and founder of the Republic of Turkey was then elected first President of the Republic of Turkey.
The reception, which was held to commemorate the 94th anniversary of the proclamation of the republic, was attended by government officials in Thailand, foreign representatives and members of the Turkish embassy.
