Cambodian entrepreneurs and small business owners are set to join the Asean-China Expo in September, with more than 140 booths booked for the event in Nanning city, a Ministry of Commerce official said yesterday.
Seang Thay, spokesman for the ministry, said the expo will allow Cambodian business to further their global reach, noting many of the 140 stalls booked will be displaying products made solely in the Kingdom, including agricultural products.
“After we announced the event to our business owners, a total of 140 booths have been booked,” he said. “Our traders and businessmen are ready to participate in the expo.”
Mr Thay noted that there has been about a 20 percent increase in the number of booths booked compared to last year’s expo.
Besides agricultural products, Mr Thay said products from the industrial, tourism, handicraft and banking sectors will be on display.
“The expo in Nanning can help promote Cambodia’s products by allowing foreigners to see our products, particularly foreigners that have never visited Cambodia and can see our products in Nanning,” Mr Thay said “We have a chance to display our products alongside products from other countries like Thailand and China.”
Experts from each sector from Cambodia will also deliver presentations about doing business in Cambodia and trade benefits offered in the Kingdom, he said.
