Travel Conference in Asia-Pacific Looks to the Future

The Pacific Asia Travel Association is holding its 60th Anniversary conference in Beijing at the beginning of April. With it being a very difficult time for travel in this area, with the New Zealand earthquake, disaster in Japan and problems in China it’s not a great time for the travel association. However, they will be focusing on the future and how they can grow out of this disastrous time.
Before these disasters affected the region, it was seeing a big growth of about seven percent on average over the whole area. They will have to expect a decline for a while but they should be able to work on what they were doing before this time and help to get companies ready to start encouraging visitors back in to the area. There will be some areas which are still growing in popularity despite what has happened and that has got to be one positive that they can all take away as well. It is even hoped that Japanese tourism will start to increase again towards the end of the year.
The conference has a series of workshops and seminars hoping to give the industry a boost and some new ideas. There will even be a guest speaker talking about space tourism. It should be a time when everyone thinks past current events and works towards getting the travel industry in the region back on its feet and bringing in some money again. Hopefully working together and inspiring each other will be the way to do it.
