Exhibiting companies from 12 countries already have signed up to participate in the inaugural Cruise Shipping Asia conference and exhibition scheduled from November 16-18, 2011, in Singapore. The event, presented by UBM Asia and UBM Live, organizers of the annual Cruise Shipping Miami convention, is to serve as a platform for the cruise industry to reach the pan-Asian cruise market.

Representing most of pan-Asia, participating countries in the exhibition to date include Borneo, Brunei, China, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Micronesia, New Guinea, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand.

"Exhibiting at Cruise Shipping Asia is going to mark our entry into the cruise market and showcase Yap Island and all of Micronesia as a new and exciting cruise destination," said Don Evans, General Manager, Yap Visitors Bureau. "We will also have delegates attend the conference to learn all we can about the latest developments in the cruise industry."

Among the exhibiting tourism organizations are the Japan National Tourist Organization, Korean Tourism Organization, Tourism Malaysia and the Philippine Department of Tourism. Cruise-industry suppliers exhibiting include Singapore Cruise Center, Asia Cruise Services Network, Intercruises Shoreside and Port Services, Sembawang Shipyard, Port Klang, Silversea Cruises and Inflot Worldwide. A complete list of participating companies and organizations is available here.

"This is a signal that cruising is building momentum in Asia," said Brian Paul, chief executive officer of Port Klang Cruise Centre. "Southeast Asia especially will benefit from the fact that it is a year-round destination that can draw directly from the growth seen in the East Asian and Australian cruise playgrounds."

Cruise Shipping Asia's exhibition features product sectors including destinations, itinerary planning, shore excursion services, port and terminal development as well as ship operations, ship services and hotel operations.
