ITE awards of the year

The 3rd Tourism Alliance Awards 2011 were presented to 28 winners in nine travel-related categories at the opening ceremony and gala dinner of the 7th International Travel Expo 2011 Tuesday.

The Tourism Alliance Awards was held in conjunction with 7th International Travel Expo 2011, 14 to 17 September in Ho Chi Minh City and for the first time organisations from Myanmar were included.

The TAA travel awards debuted in 2009, but were first held alongside the ITE in 2010. Originally, the awards were given to tourism professionals in Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos, but this year the awards were extended to include Myanmar now that the four countries are allied in tourism under the slogan – Four Countries, One Destination.

There were nine awards presented to restaurants, airlines, inbound travel operators, outbound travel operators, resort hotels, business hotels, luxury hotels, spa operators and travel writers. Winners are listed in chart below.

The Tourism Alliance Awards is co-organised by IIR Exhibitions, Vietnam Tourism Association, Cambodian Association of Travel Agents, Cambodia Hotel Association, Lao Association of Travel Agents, Myanmar Hotelier Association, Union of Myanmar Travel Association and supported by Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, HCMC Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ministry of Tourism, Cambodia, Laos National Tourism Administration and Ministry of Hotels, Tourism and Sports and Republic of the Union of Myanmar.
