The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) recently announced that it has started accepting entries for its 2012 PATA Gold Awards. The awards recognise travel industry organisations and individuals for promoting and developing travel and tourism in Asia Pacific. . The awards will be presented on April 22 at the Putrajaya Marriott Hotel, Malaysia. The winners' programme will be part of the PATA Annual Meeting in Putrajaya, Malaysia, April 20-23, 2012. The awards are sponsored by the Macau Government Tourist Office (MGTO) and entries will be accepted until December 15, 2011, according to a media release. In total, PATA will present up to 26 PATA Gold Awards and four elite PATA Grand Awards.

The PATA Gold Awards are open to PATA members and non-members. Winners will be entitled to leverage the PATA Gold Awards 2012 logo on their websites and collaterals. The highlights of the winning entries will also be on display at the Annual Meeting. Award recipients will be featured in the winners' showcase souvenir CD.
