Kuching: The organiser of the Asean International Film Festival and Awards (AIFFA2013) here next year, intends to give a touch of Bollywood to the inaugural event.
Plans are underway by the World Communications Network Resources (M) Sdn Bhd to hold a roadshow at the Mumbai Film Festival in India, as part of its promotion of the event.
World Communications secretariat coordinator Livan Tajang said today, the six-day, Indian film festival, beginning Oct 24, would be an apt avenue in preparation for the AIFFA2013.
"We hope to bring in some (actors and actresses) from Bollywood (to attend the AIFFA2013)...we also want to see how they run their film festival so that we will know how to run ours, in a more international and professional manner," she told a press conference here.
She said the roadshow would also cover all South East Asian countries to get them committed to submit their films for the festival, as well as their movie stars, to attend the events.
Kuching will host the four-day AIFFA2013, beginning March 28, next year.
The event is endorsed by the Sarawak Tourism Ministry and Asean Secretariat, with support from the information communication and culture and foreign ministries, and National Film Development Corporation. -- Bernama
