Visit Florida, the regional tourism body for promoting tourism into the region, has this week called upon industry representatives to lobby the government for more funding for tourism marketing.
The move comes as legislators are nearing their final meeting on tourism funding.
?Currently, House and Senate members are trying to decide if they should fund tourism marketing or spread our allocation among other transportation projects? said Visit Florida President and Chief Executive Officer Christopher L. Thompson in an open letter to the industry.
?However, sources at the Capitol have indicated that if members hear from you, we can make a difference in protecting tourism funding,?
