TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:The Creative Economy and Tourism Ministry will hold the ASEAN Tourism Investment Forum (ATIF) on November 7 to 8 in Mataram, Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. “Some 40 participants from eight countries have confirmed,” said the Tourism Ministry’s travel destination development director-general Firmansyah Rahim during a press conference at his office on Monday, November 5.
The ministry said that it did not set a certain target of investment from the forum. “There is no transactional target set because we’re not ready. We will examine the potential first,” said Firmansyah.
The Foreign Affairs Ministry’s ASEAN economic cooperation director Iwan Amri said the forum is a strategic move to boost the tourism sector. The forum is not only expected to attract foreign investors to invest in Indonesia but also local businesspeople to invest in ASEAN countries.
