Singapore joins regional cruise association

Singapore Tourism Board (STB) has become the first national tourism body to join the regional cruise body Asia Cruise Association (ACA), it announced last week.

Working towards encouraging the cruise market in the region, ACA had previously consisted of only cruise lines.  But now with the STB joining as its inaugural NTO member, the association will look to encourage other tourism bodies to also join.

?ACA is honoured to have STB as a member, as we recognise that national tourism organisations are instrumental in promoting the development and growth of cruise tourism,? said Rama Rebbapragada, ACA Chairman.

?With STB on board as a pioneer NTO member, we believe this can help catalyse our regional national tourism organisations to join hands with us in developing a cruise-friendly environment and attractive port destinations for cruise tourism in Asia.?

ACA was formed in 2009 by several leading cruise lines including Royal Caribbean, Costa Cruises, Princess Cruises and Azamara Club Cruises.
