Singapore's integrated resorts reel in tourists

Singapore?s Prime Minister has praised the opening of two integrated resorts in the country, saying it?s giving a boost to the economy.

Speaking to over 1400 unionists, employers, ministers and MPs at the May Day Rally on Saturday, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong relayed his visit to Resorts World Sentosa.

He said he saw many happy families during his visit to Universal Studios and was glad visitors were enjoying the integrated resorts, adding that the attractions made the city more colourful.

Lee said Resorts World Sentosa and Marina Bay Sands, which opened its conference facilities several days ago, also increased the economy?s vibrancy and created many jobs in the hospitality and tourism sector.

According to Channel News Asia, nearly 200 busloads of Malaysian tourists are visiting the integrated resorts every day.
