Although travellers are keeping the wallet closed when it comes to air travel, many say they are willing to pay the extra dollars for more leg room on board, a new study has found.
A Skyscanner report has revealed Australian travellers are willing to fork out up to AU$10 for extra leg room on a flight, while up to five percent said they would even pay an additional AU$100 to have some space at their feet.
Forking out extra for food and drink came in second and third place with most Aussies valuing a good plane meal at AU$10, while others say they’d be willing to pay more to sit in a two-person row of seats over the uncomfortable three or four person rows.
Inflight entertainment seemed to be the last on the list for travellers, with 20 percent of flyers saying they would pay no more than AU$5 for a movie and 17 percent saying the same about Wi-Fi.
Skyscanner said it was “surprising” Aussies would choose comfort over entertainment, however, a recent TripAdvisor study revealed limited legroom was one of the most annoying parts of flying.
