BANGKOK, 17 May 2013: The Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre organiser expects its 10th Thailand Travel & Dive Expo together with Golf Expo 2013 will encourage more year-round travel and help to close the revenue gap between peak and low seasons.
NCC Exhibition Organiser Co Ltd board, Sakchai Pattarapreechakul, said the fair organised with the Tourism Authority of Thailand should encourage more domestic tourists to travel year round.
“The Dive expo was started in 2004. NCC talked to people who loved diving and since then it has grown into a very successful show. The fair offers variety for travellers who love sport and adventure.”
Apart from selling trip packages, the event showcases dive and golf equipment.
“It is like a one-stop service for enthusiasts…we hope the fair will inspire new business for diving and golf,” he said.
For the second year in a row, the main sponsor slots were shared by Tourism Authority of Thailand and the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau.
TCEB Exhibition director, Supawan Teerarat, said the bureau’s primary mission was to promote exhibitions, conference and expos.
“The fair also paved the way to grow diving as a leisure activity locally and build networking in the region, which will draw foreign visitors and help the exhibition to appeal to regional exhibitors.”
TCEB supported the marketing plan for the event through its Buyer Appreciation Programme, which offers rooms for attendees and encourages participation from ASEAN+6 countries.
