Bangkok, 17 May 2013: Centara Ras Fushi Resort & Spa Maldives, which opened 15 April, gained the number one ranking from TripAdvisor out of a total 31 resort hotels in North Male Atoll.
The adult-focused resort has gained most of its reviews from couples, and averaged four-and-a-half stars out of five.
“For a resort to have been open for only six weeks, and to have already hit the top spot among all the other resorts in North Male Atoll, is amazing,” says Centara Hotels & Resorts senior vice president for sales and marketing Chris Bailey.
“Competition in the Maldives is intense. We are very proud indeed, both of the resort and of our staff there, several of whom have been singled out for mention in the reviews.”
Centara Ras Fushi Resort & Spa Maldives is just over 15 minutes by speedboat from Male International Airport and has 140 villas located on the beach or set above the island’s lagoon.
As an adult-focused resort, children under the age of 12 years are not accommodated on the island. Guests with families instead are referred to Centara’s other Maldives resort, Centara Grand Island Resort & Spa Maldives, which is in South Ari Atoll.
Centara Hotels & Resorts has 40 deluxe and first-class properties covering all major tourist destinations in Thailand. A further 17 resorts in the Maldives, Vietnam, Shanghai, Bali Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Mauritius Indian Ocean, brings the portfolio to 58 properties. Centara Hotels & Resorts also operates two convention centres in Bangkok, and two in northeast Thailand, one located in Udon Thani and the other in Khon Kaen. The latest Centara brand is COSI Hotels, an economy brand designed for travellers who predominantly make their bookings via the internet and who want comfort and convenience at the most friendly prices available. The first property will open in 2015.
