ANA, Japan’s largest airline, today announces that it will offer Ramen dishes developed exclusively for ANA by Hakata IPPUDO, the famous ramen noodle chain based in Kyushu, Japan, from Saturday June 1, 2013. The noodles will be available as one of the light meal choices for First Class and Business Class passengers on ANA international flights. Hakata IPPUDO is operated and managed by Chikaranomoto Company Co., Ltd.
Hakata IPPUDO sparked the Japanese-style ramen boom and is famous for pioneering the launch of Japanese ramen restaurants overseas, in countries including New York, Singapore, Hong Kong and Shanghai. Hakata IPPUDO is one of Japan’s most popular restaurants and has received much acclaim overseas, with excellent reviews and long waiting lists for its restaurants. ZAGAT New York ranked Hakata IPPUDO as 1st (2011) and 2nd (2012) in its noodle restaurants category.
Shoyu (soy sauce) soup ramen, named “Furusato”, will be offered on North America routes, while Tonkotsu (pork) soup ramen, named “Sora-ton”, will be available on Europe routes.
